Crocs: Come As You Are

Put Your Merchandise Where Your Mouth Is

Crocs is a footwear company that has been around since 2002. They are mainly known for their “Classic Clogs”. People are very divided when it comes to the style. They either love the shoe or cannot stand them!

In 2016, the company rebranded and came out with the slogan Come As You Are™. The slogan and campaign is all about celebrating who you are and your individuality. Crocs has continued this campaign all the way into 2021.

I currently work in a Crocs retail location and love my job. The company supports everything I stand for. Their Come As You Are™ slogan/campaign is personally my favorite thing about the company because it represents everyone. All of Crocs’ branding images include various types of people throughout. They represent people of different races, abilities, styles, genders, sexualities, etc. Although, representation does not stop with their branding. Crocs does an amazing job in continuing their inclusivity into their merchandise.

Crocs is not one of those retail companies that tries to hook you in with inclusive branding, but not make inclusive products. They put their merchandise where their mouths are. Their products highlight everything from lgbtq+ to Black Lives Matter. One way they do this is by creating Jibbitz™. Jibbitz™ are the charms to stick into the holes on various styles of Croc shoes.

Overall, I am very proud to work for a company that is inclusive and actively fights for a change. Retail companies around the world can take note on how Crocs represents everyone in their branding, but also creates inclusive merchandise. Everyone should always feel included and represented no matter the situation.
